Get the Look: Wonderful Winged Liner

Winged liner (seen at left on T-Swift) is being seen everywhere lately, from catwalks to sidewalks. Ever wonder how to achieve the perfect wing? The secret is in the type of liner you use! For beginners, a liquid liner with a felt tip applicator works best. My pick would be Maybelline Line Stiletto, with it's felt tip applicator, the liner goes on smooth and quick. For a more advanced winged-liner wearer, a gel liner, such as Maybelline Eye Studio gel liner works well to get a more dramatic wing. Read below for the secret to three minute winged-liner!
  • Using the liner of your choice, start a thin line at the inner corner of your eye, and follow your lash line to the outer corner, gradually getting wider as you go. This line is the base for your winged liner
  • From the outer corner of your eye, draw a line out on a diagonal until its even with your brow (there should be space in between your brow and end of your wing)
  • Start from the tip of that line, and bring the liner down to your lower lash line, creating a small empty triangle.
  • Fill in the triangle and your perfect wing is complete! (when the wing is complete and you shut your eye, the wing should look like a diagonal line coming right off of your eyeliner on your lash line)
  • Done!
