Normally I'm 100% in love with OPI brand nail polishes, with their big brush and two-coat max coverage formula. . . but a polish in their new Texas line has me stumped.
"Do You Think I'm Texy?", a rich, berry pink shade, looked in the bottle to be a fun spring color. When I put the first coat on, however, I was absolutely shocked as to how sheer the color was! Where was the bam! color that was in the bottle? Then I found it. For whatever reason, this polish is a lot thinner than the rest of OPI polishes that I have worn, and when I say a lot, I mean a lot. To get to a shade that my nail wasn't visible through took me four coats. That also means that the polish will chip a lot faster since there is so many coats laying on top of my nail.
However, one thing that I really love about this polish (besides the color, after the 4 coats!) is the shine. This shade has a ton of shine in it, and looks on your nails like you have a top coat on, even though you don't. The formula is just so glossy!
Overall I cannot decide if I love or hate this polish; the number of coats it takes is a pain, but the glossy shine and hue are a payoff in the end.
Have any of you tried the OPI Texas collection and had the same coverage problem? Let me know in the comments! (:
